Music & Worship

“Not to us, O LORD, not to us, but to your name give glory, for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness!”  Psalm 115:1

Worship:
We believe that worship is giving God the glory that He alone deserves.  We believe music is a God-given tool by which we can celebrate the Gospel and magnify His greatness.

We are unashamedly Gospel-centered in our worship at Immanuel.  We seek to lift high the cross and resurrection of Jesus Christ as our only hope in all we do.   We believe that our singing should celebrate that God has reconciled us to Himself through the blood of His Son.

Congregational Singing:
We believe in placing a high priority on congregational singing in our services. We believe God wants His church to be a singing church. We seek to carefully select gospel-centered, thematic songs for use in our corporate worship services that support our pastor’s message. We see the congregation as a 300+ member choir singing the glories of God in Christ each Sunday! We do not believe the bible exempts any believer from singing in the congregation. If you know Christ, you have a song!

Special Music:
Special music is a regular element in our worship services, but we do not believe it is a ‘necessary’ element. Some weeks we do not schedule special music in order to emphasize the primacy of congregational singing. We implement special music because we see it as a great opportunity for our musicians to utilize their gifts in ministering to and encouraging the congregation through song. Special music participants are selected at the discretion of the Minister of Music. If you or someone you know is interested in providing special music, we believe that participation in the choir is a good starting point for you. We want those involved in this ministry to be committed to the church and view it as a privilege.
